Virginia Harper, LEED AP, is an industrial designer with a broad range of experience in interior architectural design. After graduating with honors from the University of Michigan in 1999, she worked as a junior architectural designer at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill before moving to Milan for her Masters in Industrial Design at Domus Academy. She worked in Milan for 4 years designing products, furniture and installations for Illy, Nintendo, Alfi, and Cassina.
Upon her return to New York she worked in retail, hospitality and furniture design at Peter Marino Architects and then at Rockwell Group for many influential brands and corporations including Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton and Chanel, W Hotel, Cosmopolitan Hotel, Rockrose, and Starbucks. This experience gave Virginia a strong skill set, honed her aesthetic while also giving her expertise in brand strategy and positioning.
Virginia started her own design consultancy in Manhattan, focusing on retail and hospitality projects for international brands. For fashion brands including Pirelli Pzero, Italia Independent and Manuel Racim, she has designed and project managed boutiques and showrooms in Manhattan. She provides retail and event concepts for beauty brands such as Fresh, Bobbi Brown, Jo Malone, Origins and La Mer. Virginia consulted for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Global Brand Design for W and Le Meridien Hotels and often consults for architectural firms on a variety of high end projects. She was an adjunct professor in Interior Design and Industrial Design at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
After 3 years as a Design Director at Estee Lauder, she is currently Senior Design Director for Guerlain running their Visual Merchandising, Store and Spa Design team.
Her furniture design practice continues to grow after launching the Hudson Collection for Poltrona Frau at the Milan Furniture Fair in 2015 and the Zenzero Collection for DDC during ICFF in 2014.
